We read the story Duck on a Bike with our 3's. They had so much fun with this story. We talked about predictions and they grasped this concept very quickly. After a couple of days, the kids learned to "picture read" their own story! That's when they use the pictures to tell the story. They now know that you don' have to be able to read the words to be able to "read" and tell the story!
On the last day of this theme, the we talked about the animal sounds from the story characters and put the characters in order of appearance. We worked on our number recognition and placement (1st, 2nd, next, then, etc)
