Once again the Stephenson County Ag in the Classroom program visited our class. We learned about pumpkins and the Illinois is the largest producer of pumpkins in the US! Of course we also made pumpkin pie in a cup. It was delicious!

December Family Project
Each month, I send home a family project. It's a craft that the kids and family can work on together. Once the kids bring it back in, they show their classmates and talk about the project. It's a great introduction to public speaking. This month, the kids decorated their own stockings. They're now hanging by our class fireplace, waiting for a gift at our Christmas party!
Stone Soup
The week of Thanksgiving we talked A LOT about sharing. We also read several versions of Stone Soup. We compared the stories and discussed how the soup always tasted better after sharing. Of course we ended the week with our own class Stone Soup!
