Christmas Presents

This year for our family Christmas presents, the kids decorated their own Christmas tree ornaments!

December Stockings

Each month, I send home a family project for the kids to work on with their families.  This is supposed to be a fun activity to get the kids working with their entire family to create something. I always hope that it leads to giggles and good conversations.  For December, the families decorate a Christmas stocking.  The only direction is that somewhere on the stocking, it should have the child's name.  The kids always love sharing their family projects with the class.  This gives them an opportunity to work on sharing, speaking in front of others, and answering questions.

The kids get their stocking back at our Christmas party. And of course they're filled with goodies!

Our Christmas Wishing Tree

Each year I have the kids help me decorate our classroom tree.  This is our wishing tree!  As they put on an ornament, they make a wish for Christmas.  I remind them that our wishes should be about helping others, not necessarily what gifts we hope for.  The kids always amaze me at what they wish for.  This year I got a lot of wishes for happy families, being healthy, and a cure for covid.

I miss you!

It sure is lonely teaching without my Brilliant Bees!  I am so proud of my Bees and how well they're transitioning to online learning.  🐝

I is for iguana

This week, we learned all about reptiles with a special focus on iguanas! It was also I week.  We ended the week with a directed drawing by Art Hub.
