Today we decorated our class tree. I had each child come up and make a wish as they hung up an ornament. The wishes were sincere, silly, and beautiful. I heard kids wishing for a wonderful Christmas concert. Some wished for toys. One wished for a Christmas filled with peace and joy. A couple wished for fighting to stop. Every day these kids fill me with awe!

November Family Project
I just realized that I never shared our November Family projects. The kids had to disguise their Tom Turkey. He didn't want to be eat at Thanksgiving.
Dissecting Owl Pellets
During our recent Bird Unit, we focused on owls. We learned that they're birds of prey, we learned that babies are called owlets, we learned about what they eat and dissected owl pellets! An owl eats their prey whole but their bodies can't digest all of the prey. So the extra parts are packed together in the owl, and they spit it up. That's the owl pellet. By disecting an owl pellet,we can see the bones of what was eaten. The kids thought this was so cool and a little gross!
