St. Patrick's Day Fun

 We set up our T-R-A-P-S on Thursday in hopes that the little leprechaun would come while we were gone.  Sure enough, that little rascal showed up.  But none of our amazing T-R-A-P-S were able to catch him!  He completely messed up our room but he did leave us some goodies!  We also practiced some Irish dancing!

Leprechaun T-R-A-P-S

Our class made Leprechaun T-R-A-P-S this year!  The kids first needed to draw a blueprint of their idea.  Then they worked at home to build the T-R-A-P.  Once the T-R-A-P-S were brought to school, the kids did a small presentation to the class.  They told the class what was used to build the 

T-R-A-P, how it was to work and then demonstrated the T-R-A-P.  Now we just needed to wait for the Leprechaun to show up!

Place Value Scavenger Hunt

To finish our place value unit in math, the kids went on a little scavenger hunt around the room.  They had to find the twelve hidden bags.  Once found, the kids had to empty the cubes and decide how many ten rods and ones were inside.  The answer was placed on the activity sheet.  Once all twelve bags were recorded, the kids had to place bags 1-6 in order from least to greatest and bags 7-12 in order from greatest to least!  Lots of math in this fun activity.
