4s--> Tropical Island Day

We had a short week and thought we'd have some fun before spring break. We decided to have a Tropical Island Day.  All of us dressed up in Hawaiian leis, flip flops, sunglasses, Hawaiian shirts.  Some wore swim trunks and even grass skirts!  We danced to tropical music and even took a swim in our inflatable pool! The best part was our taste test.  We tried bananas, kiwi, pineapple, grapes, and watermelon. We then graphed how many of us liked or disliked each fruit. We ran out of time, so we'll try coconut, pomegranate, mango, grapes and grapefruit after break!

3's--> Painting With Tape

     A couple of weeks ago, we decided to paint and use tape!  We made the first letter of our names with painter's tape and then water color painted on top.  It was so pretty to see how to make the colors darker and how they mix and change.  The best part was when the paper was dry.  We removed the painter's tape and had our letters.  It was almost like magic!

3's--> Roll and Write

Our threes have really been working on their letter recognition and writing.  We played a fun game called Roll and Write.  We rolled our dice and then wrote the letter on our special graph paper.  Our small hand muscles still have a hard time holding pencils and tracing letters.  So it's completely natural to write our own letters without all the fuss of staying on line or tracing small letters.

3's--> St. Patrick Day Fun

     This past week, we've been learning about St. Patrick, the Holy Trinity, St. Patrick's Day and of course leprechauns!  On Thursday, the leprechaun decided to visit our classroom while we were out.  He tipped our chairs over, left footprints on our tables, and brought us fun treats!  We had so much FUN!!

4's--> Twenty Frames

    The fours have been working on Ten Frames for a few months.  This is a great way to work on counting, recognizing quantity, grouping of numbers, tens, and more.  This past week, we switched from ten frames to our twenty frames!  This way we can count up to twenty and organize in two groups of ten.  This is a HUGE milestone to get these kiddos ready for kindergarten!
