This week we finished our bat unit. We each each researched a different bat and shared the new information with the class. Did you know there are more than 1200 species of bats?!?

Apple Orchard Field Trip
Our first field trip of the year was to Curran's Apple Orchard. We had previously learned about the parts of an apple, had apple taste tests, made apple pies and so much more. The field trip was the perfect ending to our mini apple unit.
October Family Project
We have started our family project!! For the month of October, the families were to work together and decorate their pumpkins. When brought to school, the students had to give a brief presentation to the class. They talked about how they decorated their pumpkin and answered questions from the classmates.
I love doing family projects. It's a fun way for the family to spend time together without electronics. Hopefully the projects spark wonderful conversations and lasting memories!
